Arsenal are eyeing a double swoop on Real Madrid with the Gunners ready to pay £54m to sign Lucas Vazquez and Mariano Diaz this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Unai Emery is in the market for attacking reinforcements and Vazquez emerged as a target last week with widespread media outlets reporting that Arsenal were in talks with Madrid to sign the Spanish international.

The 28-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular first team place under Zinedine Zidane and Madrid are reportedly willing to cash-in as they look to balance the books after splashing out on Eden Hazard, Rodrygo and Luka Jovic this summer.

Mundo Deportivo claims Arsenal are willing to pay £36m [€40m] to sign the winger and Vazquez is believed to be ready for a new challenge as he looks to secure regular first team football to boost his chances of making the Spain Euro 2020 squad.

Vazquez isn’t the only Madrid player Arsenal are reportedly keen on as Mundo Deportivo also claim Emery is hoping to sign Diaz this summer in what would be a big-money double swoop on the European giants.

Arsenal's planned move for Lucas Vazquez is being held up because of the Gunners' small transfer budget.

The Gunners want to sign the Real Madrid winger, but they have only £40million to spend this summer – and Los Blancos value Vazquez at £36million.

This would decimate Arsenal's budget with just a single signing, and Marca claim the north Londoners are 'yet to offer' that amount to Real.

There is no knowing whether Arsenal will negotiate with Madrid to try and lower the asking price.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has provided an update on Keiran Tierney's future amid interest from Arsenal.

The Gunners want to sign the left-back, along with Napoli, but Lennon says no real progress has been made on a possible deal.

“I have taken no notice of the headlines,” Lennon said. “I am well aware of where we are in terms of the situation.

“I spoke to Kieran in Austria and to be honest I haven’t really seen much of him because he came back early for rehab, so has not been on the training ground as yet.

“It can be an unsettling period for any player and that is understandable but until a club comes up with any sort of realistic valuation of the player we don’t have to do anything and we won’t.

“It’s as you were. Kieran is getting on with his rehabilitation and we are getting on with what we have to do here.”

Arsenal plan to join the race for Brighton and Hove Albion defender Lewis Dunk this summer, according to reports.

TeamTalk report that Arsenal are set for talks for the Brighton defender, after the Premier League club signed Portsmouth’s Matt Clarke as a replacement. Brighton have set an asking price of £30m.

Dunk has a contract with Brighton until 2023, and he made 38 appearances for the club this season, most of which were as captain.

The 6’3″ 27-year-old has a couple of years of Premier League experience now, as well as making his England debut during the 2018/19 season. He’s excellent at making blocks and winning aerial duels, not shying away from the physical side of the game at all.

There’s always a premium on English players playing in the Premier League, so it would be no surprise if Brighton were looking for £30m.

Arsenal could use an extra homegrown player or two, particularly at centre-back. Whether they can afford to spend that much this summer remains to be seen.
