The FA will seek tough punishment for clubs who criticise referees, after charging Mikel Arteta for his post-Newcastle rant. The FA is understood to be hugely concerned by Arteta’s comments & the statement of support by Arsenal. [@JBurtTelegraph] #afc
Two Italian outlets recently said Arsenal will not let Jakub Kiwior leave in January, whether that be on loan or permanently.
90min now say #AFC are 'considering' letting #Kiwior leave on loan with Milan, Roma and Atalanta keen.

.@RealRomfordPele on Kai Havertz:
“I think you've still got to give him some time to improve that. I'm sure everybody's watched him and said well he's not hit the ground running. Some players do, some players don't. And it takes some a bit of time.
I'm sure Mikel Arteta seems something in him that he can try and get out a little more him a bit like Odegaard when he joined from Real Madrid.
Havertz has to keep working hard in training and playing games and should get that bit of confidence needed.
If I look back in my day, Thierry Henry took a while to get going and once h found his confidence and then scored that opening goal against Southampton, there was no stopping him.
This could well happen to Havertz and with Arteta looking to play him regularly, once it clicks for Havertz we could see the best of him.”

.@RealRomfordPele on Aaron Ramsdale and his future at Arsenal:
“I certainly think here is for Aaron to look at his options at the end of the season. If it was me I would stay where I was. But because you never know what's going to happen. Raya could get an injury and Aaron might get that chance.
For England we know that Gareth Southgate is very loyal to players and Aaron Ramsdale will go to the Euros, but Gareth will always pick Jordan Pickford as he has never let England down. But, like for Arsenal, should Pickford get injured then I think Aaron would go straight into that team.
For Aaron’s long term future, I think you definitely review things at the end of the season and then I think you you'd probably want to move on and play football. So, it's going to be interesting.”

Brentford are confident star striker Ivan Toney will sign a new contract. The Bees are adamant they will not sell Toney in the upcoming January transfer window. [@talkSPORT]
Arsenal are ready to back Mikel Arteta to the hilt in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider. It is believed club chiefs are ready to spend up to £50m on a single player, with central midfield a priority. [@footyinsider247] #afc

In 12 games so far this season, Arsenal have conceded only 10 goals. Along with Liverpool, that is the leading defensive record in the league. Meanwhile their expected goals against (which effectively measures the quality of the chances they have conceded) is comfortably the best in the division.
Arsenal are facing fewer shots, conceding fewer chances and allowing fewer touches in their penalty box than they were last season. They are also more secure with the ball: last year, Arsenal lost possession within 40 metres of their own goal around seven times per game. This season, that “high turnover” figure is down to just five per game. [@SamJDean]
Arsenal’s current team is their tallest since the Invincibles campaign of 2003/04 and they are now carrying a serious threat from corners and free kicks. So far this season, they have scored eight goals from set pieces (not including penalties), the most in the division. “We have big lads,” Arteta said after Saturday’s win. “It is a good way for us to score goals.”
In the Premier League, only Everton have scored a greater proportion of their goals from set pieces (six of 14, or 43 per cent) than Arsenal (eight of 26, or 31 per cent).
At this stage of last season, Arsenal were two points clear at the top of the table, with 30 goals scored and 11 conceded. Now, they are one point off the top, with 26 goals scored and 10 conceded. In the eyes of some, that will be seen as regression. Especially as the attacking play is less thrilling than it was. [@SamJDean]
Brazil ready to risk irritating Arsenal over the fitness of star striker Gabriel Jesus, who hasn't played since October 24. Story:
BREAKING:
Gabriel Jesus took part in full training for Brazil yesterday.
Mohamed Elneny: “When I was injured I never felt that I wasn’t part of the team. I never felt that I was away from the team. They’ve been brilliant with me – the club as well, and Mikel and all of the coaches helped me a lot. They’ve always been behind me."
"I tell you, all the players who play for this club say: ‘Arsenal are the best,’ but no one explains why. And that’s why. We work as a family, we really work as a family, and everyone talks to you here. Everyone says the same thing, and even the new players feel the same thing. When you come here you are already in the family.
"You speak to the medical staff and it’s like you’re one of them. If you talk to the coaches, none of them think they’re bigger than you or anyone else here. They’re your friends. On the pitch we work really hard and we know what we want from each other, but outside of that we’re friends. The media team? At many clubs they are far apart, but here, they talk to us and we feel that they are one of us, we are one of them.
"And that’s why, for me, this is the greatest club,” he says. “OK, I play here, yes, but I promise you that if you go anywhere else you will not feel this sense of family. It’s unique." [@Arsenal]
Mohamed Elneny: "Mikel for me is a genius because he made this connection between the players, and him, and the club, and the fans, all of us together. I think it’s something really magical – because you have to do magic to do this. I swear, the fans feel like they are one of us.
"They’re not apart from us. They come to the stadium happy and you can see how much they are behind the team – when we are away, maybe at Newcastle, you see how many people come. We are lucky to have these fans behind us." [@Arsenal]
The VAR check for Bruno Guimarães' elbow on Jorginho: "He lifts his arm up because he’s going into the defender. He sees the player, he puts his arm up, there’s a glancing blow from the side. For me, that’s not used as a weapon, it’s not violent conduct." [@Teamnewsandtix]
Jorginho: "I miss Italy and I would like to return. In fact, I will definitely return, but I don’t know if next summer will be the right time. Because I’m happy at Arsenal and I still have things to do." [@Corriere]
Expectation is that Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus won't play against Colombia (9pm kick-off on Thursday night in Brazil), but could play a part against Argentina next week.

Chelsea are ready to rival Arsenal for Corinthians’ 18-year-old midfielder Gabriel Moscardo, who could cost around £26m, with Barcelona & Liverpool also interested. Chelsea had an £18m bid rejected in the summer. [@NizaarKinsella, Standard] #afc

Ødegaard will also remain in England during the international break, missing Norway’s fixtures, although that decision is believed to be linked to his original hip problem. There is confidence he will be fit to return after the international break. [@SamiMokbel81_DM] #afc

Ramsdale's father Nick: "Aaron’s lost that smile. It's really is difficult to see him there and we all keep saying you need to keep smiling".
"He will keep fighting to win titles at #AFC. Raya is a great goalkeeper and it is not his fault", he told @HighburySquad.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard hasn't travelled to Norway for international duty. Will stay and work at club during the break.
NEW: Gabriel Jesus has travelled to Brazil for international duty.
Under FIFA rules, countries have the right to assess player themselves - and Brazil have taken up the option to do so.
Mikel Arteta on Ødegaard’s fitness: “I’m going to have a meeting with the medical department to understand everybody’s situation & I think he is going to be back after the international break but I don’t know exactly what the decision is & the communication at the moment.” #afc

Arteta on Trossard: “I’m very happy with him. Top approach, top mentality”.
“I think every time you ask him to play, whether it’s wide or as a nine, it flows and he’s a real threat, so I’m really happy with him”.
@Be4Again napisał: "interesowaliśmy się Kudusem, Maddisonem, Zubimendim, Luizem, Barella i kilku jeszcze innych. Każdy z nich wydaje się dzisiaj bardziej „godnym” szansy w AFC niż Havertz"
Z tych nazwisk to Luiz był jedynym do którego zrobiliśmy podejście, reszta to łączenie przez dziennikarzy w zasadzie, Zubimendi jest na radarze , ale on nie bardzo chce opuszczać Hiszpanie, no ale może zmienić zdanie, chętnie bym go widział w AFC

Telegraph Sport understands the FA will meet with representatives of the leagues & the managers association to warn that regulatory action will be taken against clubs if they support managers who criticise referees. It is understood that any statements similar to the one produced by Arsenal would therefore face a strong response. [@JBurtTelegraph] #afc
