Everton contacted Unai Emery in the days after his sacking by Arsenal, leading to a meeting in London last week between Emery & #EFC majority investor Farhad Moshiri + chairman Bill Kenwright. No contact since but if the interest develops he would be keen:

David Ornstein: “The likes of Carlo Ancelotti tick other boxes in terms of the vast European success & experience, but I suspect & could be completely wrong, that Arsenal are focussing towards the younger-end & also the connection with Arsenal.”

Ornstein: “Patrick Vieira is in the frame too. People might point to his underwhelming record at Nice, but he has the Arsenal connection, he has managed more than Arteta & Freddie Ljungberg. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came from a much lower level from Molde to manage Manchester Utd.”

Ornstein: “I’ve been told by a couple of people that Mikel Arteta is the #1 target of Arsenal now & that’s been reported elsewhere too. Some feel it’s as close as being his decision & some say he still has to come through a thorough interview process
