Have to praise Arsenal for actually having backbone for once. City didn’t want Arteta to leave, so they did it behind their backs.

After they unsettled/bought Toure, Clichy, Adebayor, Nasri and (tried it with) Alexis, Arsenal’s standpoint was “Fuck them, we’ll take him anyway.”

Mikel Arteta is the new Arsenal manager. Paperwork completed and compensation agreed with Man City.

Announcement later today is still possible, but more likely tomorrow at this stage due to legal papers for the compensation agreement. #AFC

Arteta leaves Man City on good terms, with Pep’s blessing while Txiki Begiristain and Raul Sanllehi have known each other for years, they spoke even before the weekend so the passage has actually been relatively smooth
