Arsene Wenger has claimed he is "confident" Arsenal's top two stars will sign new contracts this summer.

Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have both got two years on their current deals and discussions have already begun about lengthy extensions.

German midfielder Ozil, 27, is the club's top earner and could be set for another major hike from his current basic deal which is around £140,000-a-week with big bonuses written in.

Chile forward Sanchez, 27, is on £130,000-a-week and is set to be offered an extension with a big rise to fend off interest from Juventus.

Wenger said: "That (contract negotiations) will be done in the break, in the summer.

Yes, I am confident. Yes, they have a two-year contract left and there's been nothing done yet.

"They look happy, when I talk to them they are happy and they want to extend their contracts so I don't think it is a problem."
