Arteta on if magic moments are enough for Eze or if he has to impact the game more consistently:

“Yes, you have to impact the game consistently throughout 96 minutes at this level. Any phase, any action is the most important action and on top of that you have to be able to add other values. In his case he is very, very good and unique at creating those magic moments so that is the demand of each player.

on if a central position suits him better:
“For different reasons to be fair because we had certain injuries on the front line and we utilised them on the left and we have injuries as well on the right so he has been able to adapt to different positions. 

“I think in the last few weeks he had more consistency in one position and just trying to understand as well those relationships where he is more comfortable, where he can impact more the game in relation to the opponent and that is where we are.”

Arteta on if Lewis-Skelly could play more in midfield with Merino out: “Yes, Myles has the qualities to play in different positions. He has played as a full-back, as a six or as an attacking midfielder even. So yes, that is an option that we have in his squad.”

Arteta on why he’s not been used in midfield more so far: “Because I believed that he had the best chance to break into the first team playing in that position [left-back] because I think he has unique qualities that we didn't have in the squad to accommodate that and to give him the chance to play for us.”

Arteta on his relationship with Arsenal fans: “I think it's something, trust, I think a relationship, a cohesion that you have to build every single day, the way you behave when you win, when you don't win, in the manner that you make decisions, in the manner that you are perceived inside the club.

“I don't know, I think these are all factors. I'm very, very grateful for the way I get treated, the way I get respected, for the response that all our supporters have with the team and with myself constantly.

“We start to look, but obviously Andrea is in full charge of that and I fully trust him with the experience that he has, with the relationship we've built and because we understand each other so well.

Arteta on transfer plans changing after Merino injury: “Of course (it changes thoughts), when you lose a big player like this in the squad, with four months to go and all the competitions to play for, you need to look [at the market].”

“We need to do everything that we possibly can to see if we have a player that is available, and if we don't, OK, we keep what we have.”

Arteta on Merino: “We hope so (Merino will play again this season). I don't know. Obviously, he needs to go through a procedure, which is not always positive. He's a big player for us. A player that has such a versatility and capacity to compete in various positions. It’s a big blow. Yeah (confirmed it was a fracture).

“It's a very rare injury, so we have to wait and see, once we have the surgery, how that reacts daily. We will monitor throughout the weeks. I know Mikel [Merino] is going to do absolutely everything that he possibly can to come back as quickly as possible, but as well, you have to respect the healing process and the fact that it's an injury that is quite rare.”

Arteta on Saka: "We have to wait. Today he was better, but we have to see how he responds and make a decision.

"It doesn't look like something too serious, whether he's available for tomorrow or the weekend we will see."

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal are "actively looking" at making a deadline day signing to replace the injured Mikel Merino.

A mnie by nie zdziwiło gdyby grał i za Zubiego i za Rice, i niekoniecznie byłby tylko rezerwowym w większości czasu , nie chodzi o nietykalność a rotację, do której był Merino też. Tak czy inaczej raczej nie będzie tak głośnego transferu o ile w ogóle jakiś. Havertz będzie częściej grał w pomocy po prostu;)

Pracują przy Arsenalu, więc po prostu piszą o tym co się dzieje, nie powiedziałbym że pod zasięgi, natomiast coś napisać trzeba ;) i faktycznie do momentu ogłoszenia o kontuzji Merino, to chyba każdy myślał, że nic z transferów in się nie wydarzy. Teoretycznie nadal by nie musiało, bo kadra szeroka i wrócił Kai, ale z drugiej strony pokazuje to, że nie chcemy ryzykować, gdyby ktoś jeszcze wypadł i być może kogoś ściągniemy na pół sezonu. Można by teraz narzekać, że Nwaneri odszedł, ale z drugiej strony, niech gra i się rozwija, bo na ten moment i tak byłby na ławce, więc czy miałoby to sens? O 20 najpóźniej dowiemy się czy będzie jakaś niespodzianka ;)

Ale też wygrywamy wtedy, więc dlatego mówię że nie powinno się zawężać tego do 3 ostatnich wyników. Choćby była sytuacja gdzie na chwilę City wskoczyło przed nas i następnego dnia jednak wróciliśmy na 1 miejsce.

No ale to bez sensu takie wybiórcze mecze, trzeba by i te wygrane wziąć pod uwagę, bo w wyścigu mistrzowskim, każda kolejka się liczy i to czy wykorzystasz wtedy to czy nie, grając po nich i odwrotnie. Oczywiście łatwiej jest grać jako 1, ale nie było tak źle w tym sezonie grając po nich.

AFCAMDEN bodajże napisał w trakcie meczu, że właśnie sędzia już sięgał do kieszeni po kartkę , a jak zobaczył Rodriego, to zrezygnował, bo byłaby to 2 żółta i czerwo. Nie widziałem tego ruchu , trzeba by odwinąć sytuację , ale tym bardziej zabawne przy jego wypowiedzi xD
