Odegaard: “There's always pressure, always noise, and that's a part of being a football player at this level. So that's completely normal to us. We're just going to keep going, stay focused on ourselves, like we've done the whole season and just look forward to the next game now, and bounce back, get a win, there and move on.”
Dobry mecz, kibicować do końca panowie, bez jęków

Dziś nikt nie zostanie mistrzem, niezależnie od wyniku.
Mikel Arteta on if he’s surprised Arsenal have NOT been praised more this season: “At the end, it has to be celebrated with major trophies in your hands & I’m very conscious of that.”
“I think we continue to produce those stats, they’ve never been produced in the history of this club & this club has got titles! I hope that they are coming. We are in the process of getting them, we are very close.”
“We don’t need that validation. I think we know what we are doing & we want more & that’s what drives us. We want to really achieve the things that are going to make all of our people very proud.” [Sky]
Arsenal & Chelsea, among other clubs, are interested in Lucas Bergvall (20). Tottenham currently consider the player ‘unsellable’, however, if they were to negotiate, it is expected talks would start at around £50m, with ‘creative offers’ a possibility. [@caughtoffside]
Declan Rice on facing Manchester City: “We have six games to go in the Premier League & we know how big it is. It’s beautiful. When you’re a kid & you’re watching the Premier League, you see these big matches, these title-defining moments.”
“It comes down to if you’re going to be ready & how much do you want it? To go there & win would be a massive statement. Look, these boys are ready. We spoke as a group, we know what’s required.”

“Do you feel you’re within touching distance of the title?”
Mikel Arteta: “We’re going to do everything we possibly can to achieve it. That picture is in my head constantly.”

Mikel Arteta on Mosquera’s adaptation this season: “It is one of the qualities that we liked about him & when Andrea Berta proposed the player, he knew him very well & we started to analyse him - we needed a player of that profile.”
“It’s surprisingly positive the way he’s done it, because to ask him to sit in the Premier League at this level is one thing; to ask him to play in the three different positions, regardless of the opposition, it’s something else. He has been phenomenal.”
Martin Ødegaard has been included in the travelling Arsenal squad for tomorrow. Final decision tomorrow on his inclusion in the official matchday squad.
Arsenal are showing strong interest in Jeremy Monga (16) & hope to fend off competition for his signature. Monga agreed a professional contract with Leicester, which begins when he turns 17 this summer, but that does NOT guarantee he will remain at the club. [@SamJDean]
Arteta on Saka: “He's starting to do some stuff, so let's see that progression, how quickly we can go through it and then wait. But at the moment he’s not available.”
Arteta on team news ahead of Arsenal trip to Man City: “Yeah. Well, we have another training session tomorrow, so he [Madueke] didn't look that bad after the game, and he was quite positive. He’s a player that pushes through pain so I'm hopeful that he can be available but we have to wait and see if he's able to train tomorrow.”
On Timber, Calafiori and Odegaard: “Yeah, we will try again. Some players are quite close, but the turnaround is short, so we will try tomorrow to push everybody and if they're in good condition, they will be part of us, and if not, they won't like they haven't been in the last few weeks, unfortunately.”
On Saka: “Bukayo is out. That's for sure.”
Arteta’s word on team news for Arsenals ahead of Man City match: “Yeah. Initial diagnosis around Noni Madueke is positive. Further checks to take place, but optimism ahead of City on Sunday.

@David_Ornstein: “Following such heavy investment in recent years, it sounds like sales will be really important to Arsenal this summer. It’s NOT clear if sales will have to come before signings or not, but they will have to come.” [@TheAthleticFC Q&A]
@David_Ornstein: “It’s clear Arsenal want an attacker. Anthony Gordon & Bradley Barcola have been among the players they have liked for a while, similar Julian Alvarez & there will naturally be more. I’m not aware of anything firm at present.” [@TheAthleticFC Q&A]
@David_Ornstein: “I’m sure Arsenal want Mikel Arteta to continue into next season & beyond, while it sounds from Arteta’s own words as though he wants the same. If things go badly for them between now & the summer, I’m sure there will be some difficult conversations.”
“It would be naive of me to say I can’t see a world in which he departs - nothing surprises you in football. So, the intention is clear, but obviously there is a lot riding on the weeks ahead.” [@TheAthleticFC Q&A]
Arsenal have scouted wonderkid Eirik Granaas (16). The player, dubbed the next Martin Ødegaard, made his first-team debut for Fredrikstad at the age 15 years & 90 days, breaking Ødegaard’s record as the youngest player to feature in the Norwegian top-flight. [@SunSport]
@David_Ornstein: “There are plenty of suggestions around the industry that Bayern Munich could be the direction of travel for Anthony Gordon. I don’t know of him being at the top of Arsenal’s list & from what I hear, a move to Liverpool is not on his or their agenda.”
Arsenal are among the clubs showing interest in Oscar Mingueza (26), with his contract at Celta Vigo due to expire at the end of the season. Mingueza has emerged as an alternative to Tino Livramento, with Arsenal weighing up a number of defensive targets. @Matt_Law_DT]
Declan Rice says team set up differently against Arsenal which is why scoring goals has been rare recently:
“Yeah, I think you could say that [two excellent defensive performances]. It's been tough the last few weeks. I feel like we're probably getting more eyes on us, more scrutiny, because we've not been scoring the goals.
“It's tough when you play against back five’s. We've done it more than ever this season. 5-4-1’s, 5-3-2’s. Teams really do set up differently against us. It's down to us to break that down. Camped on the edge of their box, sometimes it is tough to break down because you're playing against top-level international players, so there's a different perspective to it.
“I know fans want to see more, but ultimately tonight, just to get through, fill that semi-final again, is a real positive, so we're happy.”
Declan Rice on Manchester City against Arsenal in the title race showdown Sunday: “Beautiful. I can't wait. It's why we play the game. When you're a kid watching games, and when you're watching the Premier League as a kid, you see these big matches, these title-defining moments.
“It comes down to if you're going to be ready, and how much do you want it, you know? They obviously have been in really good form recently. No one's going to hand you anything in this league.
“Like you said, there's been a lot of noise. But ultimately, it's down to us as players. That's why we're professionals. That's why we do this game and win will be a massive statement.
“These boys are READY. We spoke as a group. We know what's required. Bring it on.”
Declan Rice says Arsenal want to eradicate the pain of losing the Carabao Cup final by winning on Sunday against Manchester City: “It hurts losing every final. We had to show them respect. We shared the pitch for 90 minutes and ultimately on the day they were the better team. It would have been wrong for us to walk inside and not show that respect.
“To see them lift that, it did hurt, there is that fire in the stomach to eradicate that on the weekend and yeah with six games to go in the Premier League we know how big it is so yeah let's bring it on.
Reporter: “Do you like to perform better on Sunday?”
Rice: “Yeah, for sure. I think we know that as a group. There's no beating around the bush. We have to perform better than we did against Bournemouth. Probably, yeah, you can say tonight, I think in the defence aspect and that we were much better recently.
“We probably made too many errors that we haven't done in recent weeks, but we cut that out tonight, which was good. But it's about doing the basics a little bit better, to a better level, you know, just the five, ten-yard passes that we're giving away a bit sloppily and just that confidence with the ball, you know, just taking more touches, relaxing on the ball, not feeling under pressure.
“Yeah, Etihad, it's the ultimate test, but it's why we play this game. So, yeah, bring it on.”
With today’s draw against Sporting, Arsenal have extended their unbeaten run in the Champions League to 12 matches, their longest streak in the competition since at least 2004/05.
Declan Rice on if there was frustration tonight: “Frustrating? No, we just got to a semi-final! No frustration, positivity all the way. Who cares what people think? All that matters is what this group thinks, what the manager thinks & we’re in another semi-final, I’m delighted.”
Declan Rice: “Delighted. So, so happy. It was a really tough test over two games, but to go back-to-back semi-finals is an amazing achievement for this group. We want to go one step further than last year now & get to the final. Bring on these last couple of weeks.” [TNT]

Martin Ødegaard: “We wanted to come here & get a result, I thought we were really up for it today. We pressed really well & especially second-half, we looked dangerous. Small margins to decide a game like this, we weren’t sharp enough in front of goal
