Mikel Arteta on the Emirates Stadium atmosphere: “It’s always very special. I think everybody is very excited for the first game, it builds a different energy. We have certainly missed our supporters & that connection. I’m sure they missed it, they missed the team.”
Arteta on being backed in the transfer market: “That word backed? I don’t know. We try to do everything in every department to have the best possible resources, the best people to be competitive.
“That’s what we try to do when it comes to the transfer market. I think instead of backing me it shows the ambition of the club, the ownership, the board, the manager and the players.
“We all want more. If we want more then we have to be better, we have to make smarter decisions. We have to demand more. That’s what we are trying to do in every decision we make.”
Arteta on exits: “We don’t know. When you shake the tree and bring more players there are always things that can happen. The spirit of that is just to be more competitive to be better, to learn from the past. With the squad we had last year we made life difficult with ourselves.”
Arteta on Gyökeres: “I think we have to manage training with him. I think we are going to be extremely happy when he starts to put the ball in the back of the net very often which is his biggest ability.
“The team, myself have a big responsibly to help and understand how we are going to do that.”
Mikel Arteta on Madueke’s potential impact: “Any creative player who can unlock situations from closed situations, creating that uncertainty, more attention as well in & around the ball is going to create space in other places.”
“Having more creativity, more weapons, having the ability to bring different profiles onto the pitch at different stages in the game, it’s something that, for sure, we’re going to have this season & that’s great.”
Arteta on the Kai Havertz injury: “It wasn’t a tackle. It was a load reaction.”
Arteta on this squad being the most complete since he’s been at Arsenal: “In terms of numbers and quality, for sure.”

WHU było tragiczne
Mikel Arteta on Timber: “We have to manage his load. He’s been out for a long time again & he comes from a long-term injury. We had a long week, we have to manage the load on that, so we have decided to take training down a little bit, especially that day in the open session.”
Mikel Arteta is reminded of when he compared spending big money on players to going to a wedding:
“Sometimes you go to a wedding and you spend more than you think.”
“Why do I say these things?!”

Sanchez to jest ręcznik xD
The rift at Nottingham Forest is Nuno-Edu. And it's a big one, described to me as broken/unfixable.
That, of course, has left Marinakis in an incredibly difficult position. It's not a good situation, I'm afraid. #NFFC
Full background via @TheAthleticFC:
With Hein going on loan, when Eze signs Arsenal will have exactly 25 players in their senior Premier League squad (9 of which are homegrown).
Mosquera, Lewis-Skelly, Nwaneri and Setford classed as Under-21s.
Karl Hein unveiled by Werder Bremen after joining on loan.
It seems like Setford will be third choice goalkeeper for Arsenal first-team with Rojas as fourth choice.

"Kai Havertz has problems with cartilage and loose bodies in his knee.""
Hmm, tylko że on pytał o Noorgarda;)
Kai Havertz has been rumoured to have problems with 'loose bodies' and cartilage in his knee.
How long will he be out for?
Conservative management: The current expectation is that Havertz will attempt to manage the problem through rehab and load adjustment, with the aim of settling it within 2–3 weeks.
Surgery: If an operation becomes necessary, it would most likely be an arthroscopic (keyhole) procedure, which typically requires about 4–6 weeks for a return to play. In the worst case, recovery could extend to around 10 weeks.
Summary: If rehab proves unsuccessful, surgery would be the next step, with an expected recovery time of 4-6 weeks.
If the reports are true about the diagnosis, he isn’t likely to face a long-term absence.

BREAKING: Eberechi Eze has arrived at Arsenal's London Colney training ground
Mikel Arteta insists Arsenal are not just swooping for Eze because of Havertz’s knee injury. References how after the Bilbao game earlier this month he said that Arsenal were still actively looking at options.
Arteta on Arsenal's transfer business this summer:
“I think we are showing the ambition that we want to do, that we are here to win major trophies, to keep evolving and improving every single year.”
Arteta on #LUFC: “Incredible club. Incredible history. I’ve been here long enough to understand the history of that football club. Very special. One big City. Just one club. So passionate. You know what happens when you go there. Great to have them back. I wish them all the best apart from tomorrow.”
Arteta: Gabi [Jesus] is going super well. He looks in a really good place. It’s a massive injury. He needs to come back from there in a strong way. He’s certainly in the right place.”
Arteta on Gyökeres: “He is ready. Very enthusiastic. He trained very well this week. Another week under his belt. He looks like he’s in a very good place.”
Arteta on players wanting to join Arsenal: “That’s another one. They want to be with us. They feel something special to come to us. Then the person, the personality they’re going to bring. Then the rest comes and I think we’ve done that very well in the last few years to create the group of players and spirit in the team.”
Arteta: “Christian [Norgaard] won’t be with the squad.
“With Ben [White] let’s see how he reacts and what we decide.”
“With Christian he will be out for another week or so.”
Mikel Arteta: “I don’t know for how long Kai Havertz will be out, the extent of his injury. We need more time and more tests”.
It is UNLIKELY that Eberechi Eze is announced as an Arsenal player today. [@Teamnewsandtix]
Arsenal & Crystal Palace have signed all the documents for Eberechi Eze’s move. The player is currently undergoing his medical. [@FabrizioRomano]
Eberechi Eze undergoes his Arsenal medical this morning, I'm told. #AFC #CPFC
Eberechi Eze's move to Arsenal set to be finalised over the weekend - so not in time for him to make his debut against Leeds tomorrow.
Fee set at £60m plus £7.5m in add-ons. Personal terms all agreed, too.

Mikel Arteta will hold his pre-Leeds United press conference at Sobha Realty Training Centre at 1:30pm this afternoon. ✅
Steve Parish on Eberechi Eze: “He’s been fantastic for the club and we’re pleased that he’s going to fulfil the ambitions that he’s got. The King is dead long live the King. We have to try use the money and give ourselves a stronger base.”
Paul Merson on Eze: “He’s the X-factor. I think he’s the missing piece for Arsenal winning the Premier League. The pressure is on NOT to win it now — they’ve bought amazingly [this summer].”

@Artetaballer napisał: "No West Ham wczoraj wyglądało tragicznie. I tutaj nawet nie mówię o obronie, ale o zawodnikach ofensywnych. Oni po prostu nie mają kogoś kto im będzie strzelał bramki... jest Bowen, który potrafi to robić i nikt więcej. Trzeba im sprzedać Nelsona, Vieire, to może coś ruszy xD"
